June 1, 1974 - Brian Eno, John Cale, Nico, Kevin Ayers. Лента с персональными рекомендациями и музыкальными новинками, радио, подборки на любой вкус, удобное управление своей коллекцией. June 1, 1974 is a live album of songs performed at the Rainbow Theatre in London on the titular date. The album is officially attributed to Kevin Ayers, John Cale, Brian Eno and Nico, although other well-known musicians, including Mike Oldfield, Robert Wyatt and Ollie Halsall, also contributed to the concert. The cover photograph was taken by Mick Rock in the foyer of the Rainbow Theatre shortly before the concert began. The bemused stare between John Cale right and Kevin Ayers is said to be. Eno's two selections are inspired Driving Me Backwards gets even more freaked out than the studio version, turning into a lacerating death crawl thanks to Cale's violin, while Baby's on Fire in contrast almost turns friendlier at the end. Both Cale and Nico make strong marks with two of their most notable and notorious cover versions. The former's Heartbreak Hotel keeps much of the spaced-out paranoia familiar from the studio cut, just ominous enough. Split live album by Kevin Ayers, John Cale, Eno and Nico. Driving Me Backwards by Eno. Baby's on Fire by Eno. Heartbreak Hotel by John Cale. The End by Nico. May I by Kevin Ayers. Shouting in a Bucket Blues by Kevin Ayers. Stranger in Blue Suede Shoes by Kevin Ayers. Everybody's Sometime and Some People's All the Time Blues by Kevin Ayers. Two Goes Into Four by Kevin Ayers. Musicians: Kevin Ayers vocals, guitar, bass guitar. John Cale vocals, piano, viola. Eno vocals, synthesizer. On June 1, 1974, several leaders on the British underground rock scene - Soft Machine bassist Kevin Ayers , John Cale , Brian Eno and Nico - joined forces for one memorable evening at the Rainbow Theatre in London. Thankfully, the show was recorded for the rest of the world to enjoy as well. The idea for the concert came from Island Records A&R man, Richard Williams, who suggested it would be a interesting mix of artists and would help generate interest in the label which had, up to then, been associated primarily with reggae. I came up with the idea of doing a showcase concert at t. Bass Kevin Ayers Piano John Cale Vocals, Written-By Eno. John Cale. Heartbreak Hotel. The bemused stare between John Cale right and Kevin Ayers left is said to be explained by the fact that Cale had caught Ayers sleeping with his wife the night before the show. Brian Eno performs two songs from his debut solo album Here Come the Warm Jets 1973, while former Velvet Underground chanteuse Nico delivers a stunning version of The Doors 'The End'. Fellow former Velvet John Cale curdles the blood with his alarming take on Elvis Presley's 'Heartbreak Hotel'. On June 1, 1974, several artists who were signed to the Island record label got together at the Rainbow Theatre for a special event. Recorded for posterity, the resultant album is an intriguing listen for those who are fans of the featured artists
