Every pressing of this masterpiece sucks, same for all the Kyuss albums except for Wretch honestly. All of them are way to quiet and sound like they just crammed the CD master on to an LP. I mean come on if your going to use a CD master at least spread it over 2 LP's, it's a 50 minute plus album, at least that way we can get some volume, instrument separation, dynamics and most importantly bass. This is a Kyuss record the bass should be booming.
Warianys
That's disappointing very to read but I'm glad you posted that info. The mid-90s were a strange time for vinyl, some labels were starting to use CD transfers as the norm, but it was not standard practice (not yet). The album side length is an issue, but not as crucial as using a dedicated master. I've got plenty of 50 - 55 minute LPs that sound very good and beat the CD counterpart, they just need a bit of a volume boost, no problem.
Golden freddi
how to identify the 180gr version? or is every repressing 180?
Fomand
remediation: the pressing from 1999 has 150 g vinyl, not 180 g
Larosa
I bought one from someone, who said, he bought it 20 years ago, the weight of the vinyl is 180 g. I don't know, if he had lied or not.
Snowskin
Not really, noIt was a long time ago and i did not research this question any further
Pooker
Hi, did you find a way to differentiate this pressing from the 2008 one? Thanks
Rleillin
i got a used copie, so don't know if there was a sticker or not. also if i could weigh it i wouldn't ask a question here
Cyregaehus
Mine came with a sticker on the front. I suppose you could place the vinyl on a scale and weigh it.
